The Network Administrator will be skilled in LAMP server (hardware and software) configuration and maintenance with the ability to optimize servers across multiple networks for scalable database and content delivery performance. They will be able to create a secure hosting environment supporting levels of ftp, shell, and Subversion access. They will have experience creating system (perl, php) scripts for web server security, backup, and migration. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years relevant experience in the field of web hosting administration and support. BS degree in related field a plus. Experience with Content Delivery Network (CDN) technology a plus.
Job description:
The Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining website availability and security by server and network performance monitoring and reporting, scheduled website data backups, and web server system software installation, customization and updates. They will also be responsible for synchronization and migration between website, database and email servers and networks. The Network Administrator will work approximately 10 hours per week on their own laptop in our North San Diego county office and up to 20 more hours each week from any remote location.
